The industrial area of MONDRAGON overcomes the milestone of 6 billion in sales

The industrial cooperatives of MONDRAGON have completed the year 2019 with a total aggregate turnover that, for the first time in its history, exceeded the milestone of €6 billion. Specifically, and according to the first estimates of the closure, the industrial turnover amounted to 6.02 billion, representing an increase of 2.5% over the previous year.
The international sales figure of the advanced industrial divisions as of December amounted to 4.214 billion, which represents a 2.2% increase over the previous year. MONDRAGON has 146 production subsidiaries abroad, in which it employs more than 14,500 staff.
Similarly, the behaviour of domestic sales for the industrial sector has continued to rise, with a 3.2% increase over the previous year.

Regarding industrial employment, the Corporation generated 298 new jobs and experienced a positive evolution of the average positions employed throughout the year, which grew to 39,020 staff. The employment trajectory of the Industry area in the last five years (2014-2019) has been noteworthy, with the creation of more than 7,000 new jobs, 54% of which have been in our surrounding area.
Finally, and with regard to the level of impact of the MONDRAGON industry on employment in the Basque economy, it should be noted that it represents 9.3% of the industrial employment of the Basque Autonomous Community.
