PM Pedro Sánchez visits MONDRAGON Kunshan Park, in China

Oskar Goitia and Nerea Aranguren, president of MONDRAGON International and the newly appointed vice-president of MONDRAGON respectively, received Prime Minister Sánchez at the Anaitasuna farmhouse. They then accompanied him on a tour of the Fagor Arrasate plant.

The Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, has just completed his official trip to China. With many economic issues on the agenda, he visited MONDRAGON Kunshan Business Park on the last day.

MONDRAGON welcomed Sánchez in the company of Oskar Goitia and Nerea Aranguren. The meeting was also attended by the Mayor of Shuzou and representatives from the business world, as well as MONDRAGON's corporate representatives in China.

At an event held at the Anaitasuna farmhouse, Goitia highlighted MONDRAGON's collaborative spirit: "MONDRAGON opened this business park 20 years ago in the Kunshan area, together with the local institutions. Since then, it has been a symbol of cooperation and diversity, and a hub for attracting investment for strategic industrial sectors such as automotive, high-tech machinery and advanced manufacturing".

Prime Minister Sánchez then visited the Fagor Arrasate plant. He was accompanied by the general manager, Alberto Sarasqueta, who showed him the stamping systems and the processing lines for the steel and aluminium produced there.  Sarasqueta highlighted the work carried out over the last 16 years, "we are a benchmark in China and we will continue to invest heavily in this country as part of our international expansion strategy".

MONDRAGON has a turnover in China of more than 300 million euros from its 14 plants. Around 1,500 people are employed in these factories.
