Orbea shines a light on its Olympic bikes
The brand has used its know-how to develop special gear inspired by Paris, "The City of Light", for the ten cyclists who will take part in the various Olympic disciplines.
With competition as part of its DNA, the Olympic Games are a required event for a brand like Orbea. To celebrate participation in the Games, it has prepared some special bikes with an exclusive design inspired by “The City of Light”, Paris, which will be ridden by the brand’s athletes.
This design is 100% developed and painted
at Orbea's facilities in the Basque Country
Paris was given the nickname “The City of Light” in the early 19th century, when it became the first European city to use gas lamps for street lighting. Now Orbea has applied this concept to the design of the Orca, Oiz, Orca Aero and Ordu models that will take part in the Olympic Games.
In this design, the cyclist becomes the fuel, the light. All this energy that has been generated is spread throughout the bicycle, starting from the seat and moving towards the front, filling the entire frame with energy and speed.
The result of this concept is a distinctive color combination with Metallic Gold representing the energy generated by the cyclist, Cotton Pink expanding down the frame and Tanzanite Carbon View finishing off the front of each bike. This design is 100% developed and painted at Orbea's facilities in the Basque Country.
This material is exclusively for Orbea athletes who will compete in the Olympic Games, so it will only be possible to see the bikes in action in the road race, time trial and the Olympic distance mountain race (XCO).
