MondragonLingua is a cooperative that was set up in 1973, and belongs to the MONDRAGON Corporation. It operates in the Languages industry, both in the field of training and in the field of translation and communication. It has now completed the takeover of the US company Global Word Inc.
MondragonLingua took its first steps in the US market in 2013, when it opened a commercial office in Washington DC, with the aim of drawing closer to its main translation customers, such as IBM and several major international organisations. Driven by the favourable outlook for this market and in keeping with the provisions agreed in its Strategic Plan, MondragonLingua made the decision to purchase a local company in order to avail itself of a production facility within the US market itself.
Global Word Inc. is a translation services company that was founded in 1995, and it is headquartered in New Jersey, just a few kilometres away from Manhattan. It has a staff of 10 people, with a network of 300 translators and language professionals, specialising in translation services within the field of corporate reporting and human resources.
Its customer portfolio includes major corporations, such as Johnson & Johnson, Aon Hewitt, Liberty Mutual, and the Wyndham Hotel Group.
This is MondragonLingua’s second corporate takeover, following the one arranged in Madrid in 2011. More recently, furthermore, in May 2015, the cooperative opened a commercial office in Paris. This new expansion through Global Word is a clear indication of its commitment to internationalisation, and provides a major boost to the company’s ability to provide its customers with an ever more global service.
