Jon Zuazo will be replacing Juan Mari Palencia as MD of the Fagor Ederlan Group
Zuazo is 51 years old and has had a lengthy career at Fagor Ederlan, where he started working 29 years ago as a process engineer. During this time, he has worked as a project manager and sales manager at the group's plant in Usurbil (Gipuzkoa) and later as sales manager of all the European plants. In his most recent position, he was director of the aluminium hose reel plants in Bergara and Mondragón (Gipuzkoa).
Jon Zuazo: "We have huge challenges, both on a social and business level, and also many opportunities to change and improve, and to achieve this, I am ready to offer the best version of myself"
In his internal presentation to the cooperative's members, he remarked that he is taking up this new post "with humility, but full of enthusiasm and motivation", "we have huge challenges, both on a social and business level, and also many opportunities to change and improve, and to achieve this, I am ready to offer the best version of myself".
Jon Zuazo will assume management of the group as from 1 April 2024, at which time work will begin on the strategic planning for 2025-2028. “This will be a process in which together we will decide on the strategic lines for the next 4 years. It is an extraordinary opportunity to define a shared project, taking all views into account and thereby rekindling the commitment and motivation amongst us.”
During this process, he will be supported by Juan Mari Palencia, who will continue as Vice-President of Mondragon Automocion Chassis & Powertrain and they will therefore have the opportunity to work together.
